UMAR is a developing association of Muslims from across the greater Richmond area. Rooted in Islamic principles and inspired by the life of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, we work together to benefit both the Muslim community and the wider society.
The believers, in their mutual love, mercy, and compassion, are like a single body: if one part of the body feels pain, the whole body responds with sleeplessness and fever (Sahih Muslim).
The believers are but one brotherhood, so make peace between your brothers. And be mindful of Allah so you may be shown mercy (49:10).

To unite men and women of faith in Al-Islam, as modeled by the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), with a shared vision to work for the good of the Muslim community and all citizens of the greater Richmond, Virginia area.
